Research describing the development of the CellDirector technology has been published in the scientific Journal of MicroMechanics and MicroEngineering.

J. MicroMech. MicroEng. is a leading journal in its field, covering all aspects of microelectromechanichal systems, devices and structures as well as micromechanics, microengineering and microfabrication. The journal publishes key research from around the world and is essential reading for all MEMS researchers.

Gradientech receives VINNOVA grant
Conitinued financial support for high-throughput system development
Gradientech receives continued financial support from Vinnova, the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems. The so called Forska&Väx grant financies part of the development of a high-throughput system for advanced analysis of cell responses induced by chemical gradients.

Gradientech announces new investment and new Board Member
Innovationsbron AB and UUAB new shareholders
Gradientech today announces a new investment and the addition of Innovationsbron AB and the Uppsala University Holding Company (UUAB) to its shareholders. The funds will be used to finance the final development and launching of Gradientech’s two first CellDirector® products.

“We are pleased to welcome Innovationsbron and UUAB as shareholders” says Gradientech CEO, Sara Thorslund. “Both Innovationsbron and UUAB have a strong track record and wide experience in supporting and guiding innovation-driven small companies. We look forward to our future collaboration.”

Allan Asp from Innovationsbron joins the Board of Gradientech. “We welcome Allan Asp as new Board Member of Gradientech. Allan Asp has long experience from life science companies like Pharmacia, Pyrosequencing and Alphahelix and adds valuable competence to the company”, says Sören Nygren, Chairman of the Board.

GRADIENTECH announces new Board Member
Gradientech is pleased to announce that Peter Karlberg joins the Board of Gradientech. Mr Karlberg has long marketing and sales experience from life science companies like Pyrosequencing, Biotage and Olink BioScience, and adds valuable competence to Gradientech when building up its own marketing and sales organization.
Mr Karlberg holds a BSc from Uppsala University in Molecular Biology and a Diploma in Export Sales.

GRADIENTECH receives VINN-NU grant
Financial support from VINNOVA
As one out of eight newly founded companies in Sweden, the biotech company GRADIENTECH AB receives the VINN-NU grant from national agency VINNOVA. GRADIENTECH is awarded the grant for the development and commercialization of a novel microfluidic cell culture system, invented at Uppsala University in Sweden.

Venture Cup winners
GRADIENTECH founders awarded
The founders of GRADIENTECH AB are awarded the Prize for Entrepreneurial Force, by Venture Cup East in Sweden. The prize was awarded due to the strong entrepreneurial drive shown by the GRADIENTECH founders Sara Thorslund and Johan Kreuger in their efforts to commercialize basic research to create better research tools for biomedical research, and to support their efforts to build a successful cutting-edge biotechnology company.

Börje Ekholm som tillsammans med Laila Bagge var med som
inspiratörer under kvällen.
Venture Cup Öst ville i år lyfta upp just entreprenören och
därför delades även ett nyinstiftat pris för "Entreprenöriell kraft" ut
av stjärnkrögaren Melker Andersson som närvarade i egenskap av
juryns representant.
Priset gick till Sara Thorslund, Johan Kreuger från Uppsala
med sin idé GRADIENTECH.

Lab on a Chip provides a unique forum for the publication of significant and original work related to miniaturisation at the micro- and nano-scale across a variety of disciplines, including chemistry,
biology, bioengineering and physics.

The paper describes a novel fluidic device that enables the study of directional cell responses in complex tissue and organ culture models, and was published as hot article and depicted in the
